Westcott, Bucks

Although there has been nothing unexpected, the year's garden list here continues to grow and, despite the far from perfect weather of the past few nights, I see that I haven't failed to add a species to the list since way back on 15th May and I trap every night.  Looking at the last four nights, new for the year on 12th June were Eudonia mercurella, Elophila nymphaeata, Cataclysta lemnata, Mottled Beauty, White-pinion Spotted, Common Footman, Burnished Brass & Beautiful Hook-tip, while on 13th June I got Hedya nubiferana, Eudonia (Dipleurina) lacustrata, Small Dusty Wave, Green Pug & Coronet, on 14th June Leucoptera laburnella (retained for dissection), Amblyptilia acanthadactyla, Purple Bar, Heart and Club & Rustic and on 15th June Lyonetia clerkella, Agapeta hamana, Pandemis cerasana & Myelois circumvoluta.  Numbers were down a bit last night but I'm getting on average just over 100 moths per night at the moment with the highest totals currently provided by Common Swift, Heart and Dart and the Minors.

Myelois circumvoluta, Westcott 15th June
