A Blog for moth recorders in Bucks, Berks and Oxon
It is certainly an impressive moth. I have been trapping in Sibford Ferris for just over a year now so it would be interesting to compare records at the end of the year as we are quite close (about 3-4 miles). I have caught several Scorched Wings both last year and this although they seem to be a species that often settles on the outside of the trap or on surrounding vegetation and so are vulnerable to the early birds.
Indeed. I trap once a month but the counts I am getting at the moment are surprisingly small compared to two to three years ago.
