Yellow-barred Brindle?

Meant to put this up before. I'm thinking a fresh Yellow-barred Brindle for this one? Also a slightly odd looking Dagger.

  1. Yes, it is that Victorian misnomer the Yellow-barred Brindle. The books say that it "starts off green then rapidly fades to yellow" but out of my 100 or so records I've only ever seen two that showed a hint of yellow. Maybe my traps are only capable of catching fresh individuals...

The other one looks good to me for one of the two Daggers. If you are querying the basic colour, the shade of grey can vary quite a bit.

  2. The grey can even have a pinkish tinge. Would need its bits looking at, not necessarily dissection with the males, but a good hand lens and lots of patience and a very sleepy moth
