Quick query

Although the photo's awful (and I'm sorry for the lack of size indicators), I wondered whether the moth below from last night's catch in Wolvercote might be confirmable as a Bryotropha affinis (speckled scale effect, etc.) - or is the photo to blurry to be sure? Many thanks in advance. Steve and Xander Goddard.

  1. Hi Steve, assuming that the size fits I think you are correct. I'd be surprised if you haven't had it before - both Bryotropha affinis and Bryotropha terrella seem to me to be very common locally.

  2. Thanks, Dave. We don't seem to have had that one before - possibly just a case of not previously obtaining a good enough photo.
